It’s Been Awhile

October 15, 2008

So We haven’t really been using this so much anymore.  I don’t even know if you are hooked up to the internet anymore.  But I figured I would start writing on it again.  Why not?

My birthday was good.  I wish I had the camera here so I could take a picture of the presents that I got.  Ohhh I just got an idea, I can get a pic off the internet.  One moment.  Okay, Josh got me a really cool old 35 mm camera.   I haven’t taken a picture with it yet because I need to go get a lens but trust me it is very cool.  And he got me this cup.  I know I know it looks like any old paper cup but… it is not.  It is made out of porcelain with a silicone cup.  It is really cool.  But all in all the day was good.  I got to drink some cava which is spanish sparkling wine with Nate, Josh, Joe and Robin (the Scot I told you about that is over).  Then Joel and Tathi showed up and Mandi and Noah.  It was nice.  Josh and Nate made me tapas and paella.  It was good.  We played spoons.  Do you remember Chad from Kathy and Dan’s wedding.  He showed up about 9:30pm while we were in the middle of an intense game of spoons.  I kind of felt bad for him, but he handled it well.  He is still here.  I am not sure how long he is sticking around but I”ll probably get to see them this weekend. That was my birthday. It was relaxing and fun.

Here is a little mini recap of Josh and I over the last few weeks.

The lake closest is Fallen Lake Leaf and then the in the background in Lake Tahoe.  We were here for Jason and Robin’s wedding.  It was a lot of fun. Jenna is a hoot!  I think Jason and Robin are coming for Thanksgiving.  That should be a lot of fun.

And this is just a pretty picture from our hike.  Our friend Peter was down there at the time as well so we spent one night with him and then two with Mom and Pa.

This is Josh and I in Sun Valley.  We went for Oktoberfest aka Jon’s 40th Birthday party.  It was a lot of fun as well.  Everyone was dressed up but most of the people didn’t have the authentic costumes like Josh and I.  We are going to use them for Halloween as well.  Josh is funny huh?!

When we were in Sun Valley, Josh and Nate went fishing and they must have caught a dozen fish in one hour.  It was crazy.  They may not have been big but they sure got a lot of them.  He was posing this way because this is how Jamie says you should do it to make the fish bigger.  It must have been really small if this was suppose to make it big.

Josh found this one while he was driving on 101 from Yachats.  I was going to send it to Pa to see if he wanted to do something similar on his motor home.  Very cool.

This is me in San Louis Opisbo.  Brooks best friend got married and we went down to help celebrate.  It was foggy in the morning but not to bad for the wedding.  I met Kathy and Dan’s friend Marta and Josh.  They were really nice.  Josh’s other cousin’s Lili and Kasara were there and we danced our booties off.

And what I can I say but isn’t this the fattest pig your have ever seen?! It was at the place were the wedding was at.  It is so fat!

Well that is about it.  Hope you enjoy.  Hope all is going better up there.  Jill I am really sorry that you are so scared of me.  It hurts my feeling a lot that you won’t call and talk to me.  I am your friend.  Image the tables turned.  Would you be mad at me if something came up and I couldn’t come for a visit.  Maybe my memory is wrong here but I think that may have happened in the past.  But I called and told you.   I don’t know how to emphasize this but it was not that you were not coming that hurt my feeling, it was that you could not even call and tell me.  For all I knew you were suppose to be here on Friday.  Mom and Pa of course told me but what if they hadn’t.  I would have been worried about you.  Please please don’t let our line of communication be shut down over something like this.  It seems like the closing of this store is something important and traumatic in your life.  It is more the time when you need the support of your family and you shut me out.  I can’t tell you that it is going to be okay, or be here to listen to your worries.  I love you and I hope you can understand my perspective.

Lots of Love

Josh is hogging the internet listening to Barack’s Democratic nomination speech.

It was nice talking to you tonight.  I haven’t talked to you in awhile.  I guess since we went hiking.  I showed you the pictures from that didn’t I.  Well, now I am finishing up the last week of school at OSU and have started classes and HSU.  Very exciting only one semester left and then I will be an anthropologist?  I don’t know.  But we are in Yachats as you obbiusly know from our conversation.

The Village project is going fairly well.  We got some signs hung up today and Josh has been working on the clay inside.  The unit is really cute.  I wish I had enough money to buy it.

I don’t have a lot to say right now so I”ll just put some pics up for you.  I love you.

Family Reunion

July 28, 2008

What a weekend huh?  That was a shit pile lot of people that were there.  A little overwelming but if you took it in small chunks I was able to manage.  It was nice seeing Courtney, Jason and Necko and meeting there significant others, Jason and Nicko.  Josh and I went to Nicko and Jenna’s wedding, when was it, maybe two or three years ago but didn’t really get to meet Jenna but only real quick.  We went after the potluck with them and Jason and Robin (Not Kathy’s friend but Jason’s fiance) and got a beer.  It was a lot of fun.  It was nice in a more intimate setting without the fifty other people hanging around.

But I was sad that I didn’t get to see you.  I had all these expectations as I usually do of things that we were going to do.  I had planned to get there early and then get all done up and go to dinner with you and Jay.  But then by the time we got there it was late and Josh and I were tired as well as you.  So in saying that I really hope that you and Jay can come over next week  on your day off.  So it can just be the three, I don’t know if Josh will be able to make it, of us.  Not so much craziness and a lot more relaxed.

Where are you?

July 2, 2008

I still have not figured out what your blog address is?  Are you out there?  My internet at the house is so extremely slow.  We have this lame satellite, that at the time we thought was the only thing that we could get.  But six months later this new internet called NetGear came out.  It is super fast and a lot less expensive.  But back to our internet, it is super slow right now because the guy  at Hughes Net says that there are 4 transponders in their satellite, 2 are running properly and 2 are not operating.  Should be fixed in a few days but by then we will be gone.  We are leaving for Oregon.

I am getting excited about the trip to Oregon.  We are taking the camper.  It is the last of my summer as summer school in the real world begins in 23 of July.  That will be fun living in Corvallis.  Maybe you can come and visit me there.  But sad I won’t see our house for 6 weeks!

I am going for a run.  Got some pent upness.  I was snapping at Josh last night.  Please comment or write me back so I can read or write on your blog.

Technology

June 30, 2008

My very first blog entry that is not required to be done by a teacher.  How exciting?  I am super excited that you agreed to do this with me and that you seen some what interested in it is as well.  Technology is a funny thing that although it sometimes makes things less personal in one way, like I haven’t talked to Josh in the last hour because I have been “playing” on the computer, but in another way, it also brings us together.  Sorry to be cheesy but we do live far away and sometimes it is just easier to jot something down and send it rather than have to make a phone call, go through the formalities of “Hey, how is it going?  Oh it’s going good.  What have you been up to?”  You can just say exactly what is on your mind and get your point across quickly.  Also I, unlike Josh, who can just blather and communicate quite well verbally, I feel like sometimes the things that come out of my mouth aren’t exactly what I intended them to be and I have a much easier time writing things than speaking them.  Blah, blah… (my favorite.)

Good night and I’ll write or chat or speak with you tomorrow?.
